Today in Class we learned all about the history of democracy and how it all traces back to a man named Socrates, one of the three very important philosophers from Ancient Greek times. Socrates was a stone mason in his early years and eventually went off to fight in the Peloponnesian War. He was a War Hero with his incredible efforts. His working Class background and Battlefield experience shaped the ways he viewed the world. He created something called the "Socrates Method" were he would meet with young students in the Agora to ask them a series of questions to extend their knowledge. Eventually Athens became such a well known place that people were coming from everywhere to learn all about the words of Socrates.
