Today, we learned mostly about the actual relative size of a map, it was really astonishing to me that places such as Greenland, Alaska, Australia and almost all of Europe are not as big as we thought they were. In the video Mr. Schick showed us, we learned that Greenland is actually 14x smaller then Africa although the map makes it look like they are almost the same size. He actually brought something to my attention that made me think, saying that there is no direct north on the globe because if beings were to come from any direction they may not have a view that distinctly shows that north we think of as true north. I guess just something new to randomly think about when your bored.
